PERSONALITY

Adventurous - Willful
Isleen has always been eager to see the world to the fullest, always among the first to try something new or charge into uncharted lands. At first one could defend her daring endeavors with her youth, whereas most of the other fledglings grew out of it, Isleen didn't. It actually became more of an obsession over time, Isleen would go out on her own, or at least try to before quickly being caught and escorted back to the safety to her parents' supervision and to be scolded of course. Though despite how many times Isleen was chastised for the ill behavior she still managed to do what she wanted, it wasn't to be defiant or insolent, she just wanted to see the world and didn't think nor care what would come of it because each time she saw a little more; that was enough for the Adventurer in her to want to go further. Even as she entered Adulthood the Starry-Eyed child never left her, even if it's a little more repressed.

Affable - Slovenly
Naturally, Isleen is notably friendly with any other Serorian or Equine in Hireath and always willing to lend a hoof whether it's helping someone clean up or helping a fellow windracer get some deliveries done for the day. While in Serora it is easily disregarded, to many outsiders Isleen seems rather messy and somewhat improper, sand often scattered in her matted mane and tail from the miles of windboarding over Sedo. While she isn't rude, at least to Serorian standards, she is used to the social customs of Serora and there are really no strangers or 'social levels', she won't judge and will talk to anyone and everyone with the most hospitality. Even equines the rest of her herd whisper about, Vagabonds at best and worshipers of Ignacio at worst, she will give a chance and generally enjoy until they give her a reason to be untrustworthy. Eventually, this outlook could bite her on the rump and get her somewhere she doesn't want to be, or shouldn't be.

Curious - Nosy
Just as she is adventurous, Isleen wants to know everything about everything. If she wasn't in Serora she may have been told to be quiet far too many times to count for her questions (at inappropriate times). This is why Isleen actually is almost halfway literate, there was a whole world she couldn't delve in because she couldn't understand words and she had to fix that. Things she learns comes from her own determination to learn, oftentimes excessive inquiry that feels like interrogations to get the answers she wants but other times she is found prying into things on her own. Isleen despises secrets or not being knowledgeable and educated of absolutely everything going on, an overall fledgling trait but again something she never grew out of and so she carries on to involve herself in everything she can if the information seems juicy enough, especially whispers within the council. She doesn't want to be in the spotlight, she just wants to know what you know.

Energetic - Impulsive
Isleen is and has always been dynamic. As a young fledgling, she was remarkably hyper racing the others across the sands or just alone, kicking up sand into Alya's winds as she ran and even then the filly never managed to use all of her energy. With age, her boundless energy had been eased but only a little, enough to be civil and somewhat mature to adult standards. That only lasts about as long she's around other adults, as soon as she's alone or she's gliding over the sand she's a fledgling again beaming to the wind and imagining it's what it feels like to fly, maybe even when she's not got any Cargo she's performing tricks, especially over any dunes she comes across. There are even a few times if she's got a light load she will earn herself extra work, some equines may get extra sand with their mail. Isleen's sudden energy has been known to get her into unfavorable situations, even if she's often alone when doing it.

Magnanimous - Irresponsible
Growing up in Serora Isleen was raised to be generous, helpful, and kind spirited. She will do anything she can to help and will often go out of the way or add work onto herself to help out others, life in Sedo relies on them all to do their part and she heavily believes in this like every Serorian does. If someone can't get all their part done and she can, helping is the best thing to do and she does it without rancor. If the need presented itself, Isleen may even put herself in danger to help another and she certainly never judges a soul until her own experience with another is damaged, even then she is likely to give several more changes. The only problem with Isleen's selflessness is while she tries her best to be reliable to the herd, Isleen is slightly irresponsible with her fledglings like qualities and her worst offense, procrastination. She will do her best not to let another down but sometimes an opportunity for knowledge presents and she will push things off and become distracted until it's too late. This causes the herd to not leave her with favors too important if it's outside of her job description, least she forgets it. Otherwise, Isleen is fairly trustworthy and debatably too trusting for her own safety.

HISTORY

Foal:
Isleen is the second fledgling and the only filly to her family, her brother had been born with the wings of Alya, the same ones their father held. Isleen, however, had not, she was a common horse like her mother, but she was still a blessing to be loved, she was still one of Alya’s children. She may have been born wingless, but that never stopped her from yearning for the distances and skies wings would take her and so from her first steps Isleen craved adventure, first inside Sedo’s borders, then beyond them.

From early foalhood, Isleen mused about exploring the vast landscapes and climates of Hireath, many of her made up games suggest adventuresome themes and most imply navigating Aquore’s waters and dodging through dense tropical forests. This was simple child’s play at first, everyone had dreams and every fledgling had starry eyes, a sense of exploration. The problem was as Isleen aged she began to understand her interests as more than just childhood dreams, but as the possible, something she could achieve. She became restless for experience and she became bold about what she wanted, confident it would satisfy the Fledgling’s hunger Isleen’s parents set up journeys sending her with nomadic groups and it worked, for a while.

Isleen cherished the new experiences and sites she visited with the nomads, she witnessed parts of her home she had only heard of before. It was hot beyond belief in some of the places they traveled, Isleen was far too accustomed to the slightly cooler conditions the mild tree coverage and homes Osulas offered as protection from the sun, and soon she had seen the landmarks of Sedo several times over, it had lost its thrill. In time Isleen left the nomadic group during one of its visit’s to Osulas, staying behind to return to her family that greeted her with open hooves. To their dismay, she still craved adventure but this time it was worse, what they wanted to overcome only grew, she had already seen Sedo and now she sought after more.

Once again Isleen’s parents tried to detour her from her unacceptable behavior towards the land their Sky Goddess had gifted them, this time her older brother getting involved, he found his place in the Herd and he wanted to help her find her’s. It was him that came up with the idea of gifting her a Windracer stunt board and proposed they indulge in Isleen’s enthusiasm to become literate, in hope that if she was learning new things she would forget about her desire to venture outside Sedo and utilize the new skills to find her place in Serora. He was the one to teach Isleen to ride the sands on the Windracer board, how to ride the winds of their home like wings of the Pegasi. Isleen mastered the stunt board rather quickly with the help of her brother and embraced every minute of it, while she wasn’t born a Pegasus Alya never forgot her children, Isleen sprouted wings when she was on that stunt board, it became her wings.

Adolescence:
It was roughly a year and a half Isleen was kept content. Between surfing the sands everytime the opportunity presented itself to visits to the Mullah for lessons on literacy she really didn’t have time to consider nor care what lied beyond their home, those places didn’t have Alya’s winds like Sedo, and without her wind and sands, Isleen couldn’t fly. All was going well until the day came that it wasn’t. Isleen was out on her board like any other day but that day it was different, Isleen had a brilliant idea, nobody understands really what caused her regression not even herself but Isleen turned her Windacerboard towards the narrow passage of land to Sirith she knew was just North of Osulas. She didn’t get far as the trees in her path had become denser they were becoming increasingly difficult to weave through, she was skilled with the windboard but that was within the regularly open space of Sedo and the windboard's sails weren't designed for tight spaces either. It was a small mistake trying to take a speedy turn into another set of trees too soon, catching the back end of her board, the sail's design crippling on the terrain as it flipped, and her with it. She would carry that mistake with her forever.

It could have been minutes, hours, days when Isleen came to, her board jagged scraps of wood and half her world gone dark. Initially, Isleen panicked and sprang to her hooves with muscles and bones that objected any type of movement, shifting, spinning, eyes sweeping while a skull-splitting headache compromised what vision and stability she had. She was left stumbling, afraid and sobbing as any fledgling would, all but wailing for her mother, father, anyone that could help her. With Isleen’s perception compromised she didn’t notice what her wailing had invited, not until piercing pain she hadn’t received in the crash screamed from the nerves of her left hind leg and she collapsed with a scream of her own. She didn’t witness her attacker other than fur, all she comprehended was to fight and as in fight, she fiercely thrashed and thrust her legs out in hopes making contact would frighten away whatever predator or predators that regarded her as a meal. She remembered how to fight, but Isleen was desperate and rational thinking had escaped her, blows to the predator wasn’t warding it away, Isleen was nearly prepared to give up.

Alya Help me.

In a yelp her pursuers seized attacking, Isleen sat wide-eyed, chest heaving and for a moment had thought Alya stood over her. Sedo’s blinding sun blackened the features of the equine that apparently just defended her life and they were gone as fast as they came, she hadn't seen where too. A shadow of four wings obstructed the light above her guarding her against Ignacio's unforgiving sun, to Isleen Alya had communicated her message to her and her alone, their Sky Mother always protected her children. Teke enveloped her pulling her onto the back of her father, her Brother beside them, they were the wings that had actually descended, or so her parent's try to make her believe. Within the sanctuary of family, Isleen allowed herself to fade into unconsciousness, convinced Alya had not only answered her but descended from the stars to save her.

Adult:
Isleen recovered from the accident with the help of the herd’s Saviors, but she remained blind in her left eye, and with time the once sapphire eye faded into a milky blue-white. Over time she was able to cope with her disability, though she struggled eventually Isleen was just as capable with one eye as she once was with two. While her brother replaced her lost stunt board to aid and encourage her recovery, their parents weren’t so forgiving. They weren’t harsh and still loved their daughter, but Isleen was taught her blindness was Alya’s fury, a punishment, for not being grateful for what their God had supplied for them. It was a lesson to value, and it was a lesson she wouldn’t forget.

After the accident Isleen became dedicatedly religious and grateful for Alya, she had a new respect for their God. Though her parents made it clear her blind eye was Alya’s wrath and punishment, Isleen perceived it differently, Alya may have been angry but she protected her. It wasn’t just a punishment, it was a message, she just had yet to understand what that message was. In result, Isleen forgot about her ambition to leave Sedo and eventually settled into the rank of Windracer where she could use her ‘wings’ for a living, as long as she didn’t catch anymore trees.

Isleen was satisfied for years of her life being a Windracer, but she remained a dreamer and never actually gave up her desire to travel across Hireath. When deterioration of Serora and threatening wars started bringing Ambassadors from across Hireath, it presented an opportunity that Isleen had never thought of before, she could still travel beyond Sedo but this time she would achieve it the right way. Isleen would strive to be a peacemaker, not only could she attend other places of Hireath, she could remain in other places for long periods of time, she could engage with the people and absorb the cultures, not only witness the cities but the landscapes. This was what Alya’s message was, or so Isleen believed it was, what she desired wasn't wrong but she had attempted it too soon. Alya knew her daughter didn't disrespect Sedo, she just wasn't ready, she had plans for her. Now, begins her quest to become a peacekeeper, she’s already halfway literate, all she had to do was learn the rest, right?

Isleen is blissfully unaware of how serious the war with Aodh actually is.

Chapters:
Chapter 5 - Isleen was not actively present for the events of chapter five, she was out spending time on her windboard doing deliveries to and from the different cities and outposts. In times of war these deliveries were needed more than ever and Isleen knew this was her part in the herd. While on the sands Isleen had seen the display from Gods Landing, and as any other Serorian she knew- could feel the return of their Sky Mother after the emptiness her absence left them with, they could all feel the life that had returned to their land. It called for celebration, an indescribable excitement and happiness that blossomed within the herd, but while Isleen traveled with deliveries she heard whispers hushed beneath the celebration Alya's return. Some equines more wrapped up in the wars than Alya's return spoke of the Talori's winged sacrifices, the murder of Hawkeye by an organization of Vagabonds, and brutal visions of the Gods war? Isleen had never fully comprehended what war with Aodh would mean, but as these whispers of horrible things continued Isleen is gradually becoming more aware and it filled her with unease, could their Sultan end up like Hawkeye? Could her family, her brother, be lost to this war?

Chapter 6 - After a successful bargain with Breim's diplomats, a terrifying and reasonably irking experience in Isleen's perspective, the small group had set home with the good news. Pagan had flown forward while Isleen and Alari carried home what they put their heart into bargaining for. Pagan could get the news home faster so they could begin thinking of a plan, or a new bargain, it was clear even to her Breim may not be as satisfied by the next visit. To Isleen it almost felt like Breim grew tired with their Alliance and trading to Serora, Apparently, they may be out of that deal for a while. The long journey home was as equally grueling as the journey to Breim, maybe worse, Isleen day-dreamt no longer of Adventure and flying but of her Soft bed and and the fresh air of the Oasis. She only returned to destruction. Their Sands were crawling with Aodhian murderers, Alya's wind smelled of sulfur and ash, she arrived at the Oasis to find she and a few others had been locked out by the strange force none of them truly understood - along with the food and supplies she had brought from Breim. To her horror Osulus was destroyed, reduced to nothing but a crater in the ground, Everything she'd ever owned was in that place including her prized wind-board, her wings. Isleen doesn't know her family's fate, her brother's, the loss of the only things she had of them left a heavy toll on her. Now she fights for her life, her Freedom, traveling constantly with the group that had nowhere to go, Praying to Alya in hopes she'd not forgotten them. Turned out they needed the latest shipment more than the Oasis did, but it wouldn't last forever.
